STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF MALDIVES TO VISITING TOURISTS

In light of the recent protests in Male, the capital of the Republic of Maldives, the government wishes to reassure and communicate clearly to all customers who have booked their holidays and are planning to visit the Maldives that these events will in no way will effect or alter their holiday in the Maldives. The government would also like to add that there will be no change whatsoever to your holiday in terms of the security and safety aspect, cost, or overall experience.

The recent disturbances, are relating to internal domestic political issues and the protests have been restricted to a small area of the capital island, Male. The Maldives Police have also reiterated their resolve to maintain peace and security with more vigilance.

As the Maldives has a unique geography, with one island one resort, and the recent protests have been exclusively limited to parts of the capital island city, your holiday plans and experience will in no way be affected by this separate internal issue on the country's capital island.
