Mr. Hatton will be responsible for overall resort operations and will oversee the implementation of new initiatives to strengthen the positioning and reputation of the resort to key markets around the world.

A native of Ireland, Mr. Hatton brings with him a wealth of hospitality experience in managing high-end luxury resorts throughout Asia and the Middle East. These include the Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Fiji, the Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Sabah, Malaysia, The Shangri-La Mactan Island Resort, Cebu, Shangri-La’s extensive Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Muscat and the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang, Malaysia. His career has spanned multiple hospitality disciplines in kitchen, restaurant & bar, rooms and accounting in Germany, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

“I feel privileged to be entrusted with the management of Dusit Thani Maldives, and to be part of one of the fastest expanding hotel chains in Asia, Dusit International,” said Mr Hatton of his appointment. “I am delighted to be part of the dedicated team of Dusit Thani Maldives. The resort’s management and staff have done such a tremendous job in making the resort one of the most talked-about premier resorts in the Maldives.”

A mere 35-minute seaplane journey from the Maldivian capital Male, interwoven within the lush coconut palms and quilted white sand of Mudhdhoo Island, nestles Dusit Thani Maldives. Developed with sustainability as a prominent consideration and opened in February 2012, this unique resort is encircled by the living 360-degree house reef of a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, enabling guests to share the beautiful waters with an abundance of marine biodiversity, including rare sea turtles, manta rays and whale sharks.  The 100-room luxury resort features a blending of Thai gracious hospitality with the barefoot luxury of the Maldives.
