Maldives has taken  part in SATTE, a travel exhibition which was held from 16-18 Jan in New Delhi. The 3 day exhibition was focused exclusively for travel trade of India. Many business networking sessions with Indian agents were conducted during the exhibition.

Maldives stall with its 63 sqm was designed to portray  an island destination.16 co-exhibiting partner companies with 28 representatives from the tourism industry of Maldives were represented at the Maldives stand. 

SATTE is one of the leading travel trade tourism fairs in India targeting the Indian Tourism Industry attracting buyers & suppliers across India and overseas.

India is an emerging market with a strong economy. By 2020 it is expected that over 50 million indian tourists to travel abroad on their holidays. The Indian tourism and travel industry has grown an average of 8% in each of the last five years, according to kuoni report.

Maldives received a total of 31721 tourists from India by end of year 2012, an increase of 2.4% compared to 2011.
