Traditional Treatments from China and the Maldives at The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Maldives

The Sun Siyam Irufushi spa treatment Chinese and maldivian

The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives invites you to discover the benefits of innovative cultural treatments within the elegant natural surrounds of The Spa. Guests can enjoy a unique selection of therapies as well as gaining treasured knowledge passed down through generations of Chinese medical practitioners and local Maldivian healers.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, which encompasses many different practices including Acupuncture, Cupping, Herbalism and Dietary Therapy, is rooted in the ancient philosophy of Taoism and dates back more than 5,000 years. The Spa invites guests to immerse themselves in the secret wisdom of this healing art, embarking upon a journey of renewal and regeneration. Alongside Acupuncture, Cupping and Tui na treatments, guests can choose from a selection of four raw bird’s nest products. The unique ingredients in a bird’s nest, called the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), are known to encourage a youthful complexion, manage skin irritation and speed-up tissue repair.

Guests may also enjoy a complimentary Tai Chi session where Master, Dr. Chin, introduces this regenerative practice. A technique that promotes wellbeing for both the body and mind, gentle coordinated body movements focus on the cultivation of internal energy 'qi' (pronounced ‘chi’), with the aim of harmonising mind, body and spirit to help individuals feel more relaxed and healthy. Perfect for guests of all ages, Tai Chi does not rely on strength, force or speed unlike many other forms of physical exercise and sport.

Additionally, The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives provides traditional Maldivian Treatments, indulging in the ancient wisdom of local Divehi Medicine, known as ‘Dhivehi beys verikan’, at The Spa. Traditional herbalism and age-old bodywork techniques practised by islanders over the centuries bring you closer to the local atoll customs. Part of the proceeds from each traditional Maldivian Treatment is donated to charity, helping to support island community initiatives.
