Signature restaurant Aragu serves innovative cuisine in an elegant setting over water. Aragu means ‘essence’ and the concept is offering two distinct ways of enjoying one dish – a ‘simplistic’ option focusing on the clear taste of individual elements and simple combinations, or a ‘sensational’ option, whereby elements are combined to create exciting and harmonious fusions of ingredients. Before or after dining, guests can enjoy vintage champagne at Cru lounge.
Tavaru houses a Teppanyaki kitchen with live cooking stations, and special wine and food tasting events in the centrepiece of the island, a visually striking tower where Velaa’s extensive wine cellar also takes centre stage. The 30 page wine list is paradise for true oenophiles, covering the whole spectrum from boutique wineries to grand marques and organic and as well as biodynamic producers. Guests can choose from rare gems such as a 1956 Domaine de la Romanée Conti “Romanée Conti”, rare vintage Salon Champagne, or two centuries old fortified wine 1870 Blandy “Verdelho Solera”, among countless other celebrated vintages.
